As an individual deeply engaged in political affairs, I found inspiration in crafting a two-piece pajama set that encapsulates the political landscape within the United States. This ensemble serves as a symbolic representation of the tumultuous 2020 presidential elections and the pinnacle of American division. To enhance the narrative, I meticulously designed a custom playing card deck featuring illustrations of key institutions such as the Capitol building, Supreme Court, and the
White House, each depicting left-wing and right-wing politicians engaged in constant ideological battles.

Within this card deck, notable political figures are strategically positioned against each other, emphasizing the divisive nature of American politics. For instance, the White House card features the pairing of Biden vs. Trump, and the Capitol Building card highlights a matchup between Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senate minority leader Senator Mitch McConnell. Some cards also incorporate drawings portraying a news camera with the contrasting labels of CNN vs. Fox News.

The inclusion of mailbox-shaped purses serves as a visual metaphor for the ongoing debate over mail-in ballots, with the red strap symbolizing the virality and widespread impact of political division. Additionally, I crafted a large playing card box adorned with a custom pattern and print design, prominently displaying the phrases 'GAME ON' and 'GAME OF WAR COVID-19 POLITICS.' This box features the mascots of the Democratic and Republican parties, a donkey, and an elephant, respectively.

The pajama aspect of the outfit poignantly reflects the enduring emotional and physical exhaustion I experience when contemplating U.S. politics. It symbolizes the notion of falling asleep amidst the political warfare, with the awareness that upon waking, the same tension and anxiety will persist. This project underscores the profound impact of American division, even permeating one of life's most cherished moments—sleep.
