Assignment: Your team selects a shape and contextualizes it into physical form by carefully creating templates, casting plaster, and fabricating an outside “skin” for the piece. Make your shape represent a fruit.

What I Created:
My team selected the hexagonal prism. I made templates using foam board and casted it with clay. To convey the idea of a coconut, my chosen fruit, I decided to make my own fabric composed of criss-crossing packing tape. The rough texture of such tape, as well as the color, resembles a coconut.

I also wrote about my fabrication process, as well as designed axonometric, orthographic, and exploded view visuals.
